Starting next month, Santa Barbara will, once again, be a port of call for many cruise ships! For those traveling with families, there is so much to do! You could visit the Santa Barbara Zoo and see all of the exotic animals that it has to offer. You could rent a surrey from Wheel Fun Rentals and cruise along the waterfront. If you are looking for the young ones to learn a bit about our historic city, take a tour with Santa Barbara Trolley Company and visit historic sights like the Santa Barbara Mission, and the Santa Barbara Courthouse!

Trolley of Lights Tour is Underway!

We are going on our 4th night for this year’s 13th Annual Trolley of Lights Tour, and Santa Barbara neighborhoods have really stepped up their game this year! There are two light shows on our route this year! Each night the tour just keeps getting better as you add more lights!

Our 3rd Annual Food Drive is in full swing as well. We’ve collected over 500 cans and food donations so far! We still have 11 more nights to go, and we’re well on our way to surpassing our goal of collecting 2,000 cans!

Each and every year we showcase Santa Barbara holiday spirit on our classic open air trolley tour of the best holiday lights and we want you to share your experience with us!

Trolley of Lights Tour Dinner Trolley is HERE!

If you’re looking to put together a company party, or you just want a little more out of your Trolley of Lights tour, look no further! Santa Barbara Trolley Company’s Trolley of Lights  Dinner Trolley is a great way to celebrate the season. This year we have partnered up with The Famous Palazzio’s Restaurant and the Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort to provide an entire holiday evening. The Dinner Trolley meets at 5:00PM at 22 State Street, you will be shuttled to the restaurant to enjoy a fabulous meal then at 6:30PM  you will embark on our spectacular Trolley of Lights Tour, now in it’s 13th year!

The Dinner Trolley, with Fess Parker’s Doubletree Dinner is available December 9, 13, 14, 16, and 21-23.
The Dinner Trolley, with Palazzio Dinner is available December 10-12, and 17-20.

Santa Barbara Trolley’s Favorite Pumpkin Recipes

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

If you saved your seeds from carving all those jack-o-lanterns, and you haven’t already roasted them, then here’s a quick little recipe to make them a little tastier when you do roast them! Adding some cinnamon always makes the holiday season super tasty! Click the picture for the recipe!

If you’re like me, then you LOVE Mac & Cheese. Here’s a fun twist on a classic that I definitely plan on making soon! It would be great to make and bring to a office party, or if you aren’t quite sure what to bring to Thanksgiving this year, this is definitely something to give a shot. And what is November without a pie? The question that always crosses my mind on Thanksgiving is which pie will I go back for seconds for? Apple… or Pumpkin? How about both?! Fun Activities for October in Santa Barbara

Are you looking for something fun to do in Santa Barbara with Halloween right around the corner? There are so many fun things to do in Santa Barbara this time of year and we wanted to share Santa Barbara Trolley’s favorite things to do in town for Halloween.

Boo at the Zoo Santa BarbaraSanta Barbara Trolley loves the SB Zoo! If you’re really into animals, then check out the Santa Barbara Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo, this year’s theme is Land of Adventure. Take your little ones to the Zoo to trick or treat without the hassle of traffic, and the opportunity to see amazing animals up close! October 26, 5:30-8:30; October 27, 4:30-8:30; October 28, 4:30-7:30

Lane Farms Corn MazeLast week my friends and I went to Lane Farms to pick out the best pumpkin to carve into a jack-o-lantern. We couldn’t pass up their corn maze, which by the way is really confusing. They also have a hay ride for those who like to take a little trip around the farm. The pumpkins are reasonably priced, and we even haggled the prices and got them for slightly cheaper than they originally wanted to charge us for!

If you’re looking Earl Warren Interactive Pumpkin Patch Santa Barbarafor a little more excitement in you pumpkin picking, then head over to Earl Warren Showgrounds for their Interactive Pumpkin Patch. They have all sorts of inflatable activities, and fun rides as well!

On Halloween day, take your best costume to Ghost Village Road and get loaded up on candy! Stop by Here’s The Scoop to enter their annual costume contest and pick up some “Worms & Dirt” gelato. The festivities go from 3:00-6:00. If you can’t make it out to Montecito, State St. also has their own trick-or-treat walk.

You can also hop on one of our classic open air trolleys to get a ride around town to check out the sites before hitting the streets for some candy. Check the Santa Barbara Trolley schedule online for pick up locations and times.

Be safe and remember a flashlight if you plan on trick-or-treating after dark!
